Lets all voice our opinion

Lets all voice our opinion

It has become a political see-saw of opinions in Hout Bay over the Hangberg Crisis. Todays march by the Hangberg community was lead by Cosatu and factions of the ANC. The protest continues down at the Hout Bay police station.

Read an iol.co.za report on the march…

In a reply to the march and the ongoing political bashing,  Premier Helen Zille had this to say…

“Hout Bay needs Heroes!”

“Hout Bay needs Heroes!”

I don’t care what anyone says, but Hout Bay is a divided community!

What happened last week in Hangberg is just another chapter in a book that shows Hout Bay is not functioning correctly as a community. What we experience daily is what the rest of South Africa will only experience in a decade from now. By 2020,  eighty percent of the South African population will be urbanized. Hout Bay is a “giant experiment” on how we can get South Africa right in the future. We have every modern South African socio-economic class living on each others doorstep with polluted rivers, overcrowding, riots, violent crime,  an apathetic upper-class and silent racism being the result.

With this in mind, 790Tv would like to launch an intiative called, “Hout Bay needs Heroes!”

We are on the lookout for residents or organisations who are trying to make a difference in the community. If you know of someone and would like to nominate them, then please send an email to news@790tv.co.za with information on why that person or organisation is making a difference in Hout Bay.

790Tv will  feature that person on www.790tv.co.za, and hopefully start building community unity…
