Good news from the NSRI

Extract from http://saweatherobserver.blogspot.com/2010/12/sea-rescue-national-21-december-2010.html:

Hout Bay NSRI will dispatch their 4.2 metre rescue craft, a full sea rescue volunteer crew and a 4×4 sea rescue vehicle to Hout Bay beach to physically stand-by on the beach during the busiest periods on the 26th and 27th of December and the 2nd and 3rd of January.

Brad Geyser, NSRI Hout Bay station commander, said: with the absence of the private volunteer “surf rescue team” who used to watch over Hout Bay beach during Summer vacation period our sea rescue volunteers have offered to be on physical stand-by during these traditionally busiest periods on Hout Bay Beach.

NSRI volunteers are on duty 24 hours a day every day of the year. We urge anyone visiting the coast or living or working near to the coast to learn your nearest sea rescue emergency phone number. Go to www.nsri.org.za to find out your nearest sea rescue emergency phone number.

Hout Bay emergency number is 021 790 3170
