Cape Town, April 14 — Buckets and spades were the weapons of choice for an art competition in Cape Town on Saturday. Teachers, learners and the community gathered at Hout Bay beach, where they put on their creative caps and got to work sculpting sand models. Sea creatures happened to be a popular subject, with a smiling whale and turtle being made. But it wasn’t just about building castles in the sand. The local pre-primary school who coordinated the project says the annual event raises funds to improve education in Hout Bay.
